Please take a look at some of our frequently asked Microblading questions in relation to your treatment.
Is the treatment painful?
You are likely to feel some discomfort and is similar to brow threading. This will be discussed further at your patch test and consultation.
Do I have to have a patch test?
Yes, this is essential to ensure that you are not allergic to the pigments and equipment we will use during the treatment. This needs to be done at least 48 hours prior to treatment.
Will I need to have a Top Up?
We recommend having a top up 4 – 6 weeks after the initial treatment.
How long does the treatment last?
Depending on your chosen pigment colour, the pigment usually lasts up to 12 months, depending on your skin type. Oilier skins will require more frequent top ups.
Is this procedure safe?
Yes, we will also provide a patch test and medical consultation prior to treatment to ensure that there will be no issues that will prevent the treatment going ahead.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment should take approximately 2 hours, this is including the full brow mapping and ensuring the shape is correct.
Will I be swollen after the treatment?
No, there should be no swelling. You may have mild redness but this should disappear about 30 minutes – 1 hour later.
How long does it take to heal?
The area should be healed after 4 – 6 weeks – no further Microblading treatment should be taken within this period.
How do we decide on how the brow shape and colour should look like?
You will be consulted throughout the whole treatment and we will use a brow mapper to ensure all measurements are calculated. We will discuss prior to the Microblading and ensure you are happy with the overall shape.
We have a wide selection of pigments available, they are matched to your natural brow and hair colour. Your own preference will be taken into account too.
Shall I draw on my brows as normal before coming for the treatment?
Yes, this will give us a good indication on how you would like your brows to look – we will then redraw the shape prior to treatment.
I already have permanent make up on, but i’m not happy with the colour and shape, can you help me?
Yes, Microblading can be carried out over faded permanent make up. Providing that the pigment is faded enough, so the new brow strokes will be visible.
How will the end result be?
We aim to give you natural looking, fuller brows which mimic your natural hair strokes. It is a much more subtle look than using brow pencils or powders.
Can it be removed?
Minor corrections can be done, however it fully remove it you would have to consult with a laser removal specialist.
